On Tuesday 25th of November, the National Schools Interoperability Program (NSIP), in conjunction with Education Services Australia (ESA), is hosting an Education and Technology Forum in Melbourne.

The forum coincides with other meetings of education technology leaders, education policy makers and leading education software vendors and provides an opportunity for participants to meet and exchange views with people who are helping to build and join up the digital learning systems that support 21st Century education.

A summary of the Forum program is available here and includes a link to our online registration page.

Topics to be covered at the event include:

  • Online resources for learning and teaching
  • Privacy, identity and technical infrastructure for online services
  • Using data to improve learning outcomes

While the Forum is taking place technical experts will be meeting nearby to work on the data standards that support Australian education, and software developers will be putting those standards to work in creating better connections between the software products used in schools.

By sharing experiences and ideas in the plenary and networking sessions it is hoped that educators and IT solution providers will leave the event better equipped to tackle the important challenges facing schools in the 21st century.

The Program will include judging of the regional finals of the IMS Learning Impact Awards. The awards are open to projects, institutions and products from the school, vocational education and training and higher education sectors.  To find out about the IMS Learning Impact Awards and lodge an entry for the Australian Regional finals visit http://www.imsglobal.org/learningimpact2014/regional2014li.html
